| Super-fast fine after UK Broadband misses accounts deadline
The group, which markets its service as Now, was due to file its figures for 2006 at the end of October. Companies House confirmed that it would face an automatic fine. The penalty marks the latest embarrassment for the Hong-Kong group, which had bold ambitions about revolutionising internet access when it launched its "next generation" broadband service in Britain in 2004. It said that the service - offering internet access without the need for a fixed telephone line – would "open up the web" for consumers. PCCW spent $14 million on 15 broadband licences before launching its service, initially called Netvigator. However, when it last released figures, it had only 14,000 customers and has remained a niche company. The maximum speed on offer is only one megabit per second (Mbps).

Australian opener Darren Lehmann was reported in The Australian in January 2003 to have yelled "black c..ts" in the tunnel leading to the Gabba dressing rooms after he was dismissed in a game against Sri Lanka. Coach John Buchanan was reported as saying that he did not condone any form of racial abuse. In December that year The Age revealed the racial abuse used by spectators against the visiting Indian team: "As Cricket Australia said it was moving to adopt powers to eject spectators for racial abuse, Indian spectators and journalists yesterday reported being called names such as 'coolie' and 'curry muncher' at the Adelaide Oval and in Brisbane." The reporter quoted one Indian, who sits on the board of a leading corporation in Melbourne, as saying he had feared for his safety for the first time in 15 years of living in Australia as he left the Adelaide Oval on that Friday night.

Patent-pending encryption technology provides an additional level of security for contract research organizations managing sensitive patient data. Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) September 19, 2006 -- TrialStat Corporation (www.trialstat.com), a clinical data management on demand company, today announced the availability of the industry's first browser-side encryption module for hosted EDC. The new patent-pending encryption module for ClinicalAnalytics (CA) 3.0™, the company's on demand EDC platform, consists of a customer-managed security key that is used to encrypt and decrypt specified data fields before they are sent from a web browser to a hosted server.
