Camber Corporation Acquires Complex Solutions, Inc

Vakrangee Software gains on order buzz

The Vakrangee Software counter has been abuzz with hectic buying activity for the last one month. According to market sources, the Mumbai based provider of document and printing management solutions is very close to bagging a Rs 1,000-Rs 1,500 crore billing management deal from one of the telecom majors. Earlier in the year, Vakrangee had entered into an alliance with Eastman Kodak Company to offer personalisation of customer communication practices in India. The company i s also bidding for a similar contract from a large retail player, market men tracking the counter said.

The scrip has been up by 21.81 per cent on a month ago basis and 8.1 per cent on a year ago basis. Today, it fell by 1.77 per cent to close at Rs 197.55 on the BSE. Vakrangee officials, however, declined to comment on this matter.

CACI Awarded $12.5 Million Contract to Support Automated Booking System for Department of Justice

CACI International Inc (NYSE: CAI) announced today that it has been awarded a $12.5 million contract with the Department of Justice, Justice Management Division to continue providing program management support for the Joint Automated Booking System (JABS). Under the contract, which is for five years, CACI will provide management and technical services to help DOJ organize and share data critical to the investigation and prosecution of criminal violations of U.S. laws. The award increases the size and scope of CACI's JABS support and expands its business in knowledge management solutions and services.

The JABS program supports booking and arrest activities on behalf of DOJ and its components. It helps capture, store, print, and transmit fingerprint, photographic, and biographical data to identify individuals and provide criminal history information.


Tyler to upgrade tax collection for Tennessee

Tyler Technologies Inc. will provide Tennessee with a new property tax management system that will enable the state and its counties to access the database and software from one location.

The contract is worth about $15.1 million and is the largest single software deal in the Dallas business’ history, the company said.

Eighty-eight of Tennessee’s 95 counties use various systems for their property assessments, appraisals and taxation. New statute requirements and higher levels of services provided by the state have made those systems outmoded.

Tyler Technologies’ iasWorld property tax software and integrated, Web-based solutions will provide the state and its counties with centralized technology, a single point of contact for support issues and the ability to upgrade the software through continued enhancements, said Andrew Teed, president of Tyler’s appraisal and tax solutions unit.
